1994 Toyota Pickup 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Manual

Hello, my usually dependable Toyota has 178K miles and the past couple of days it turned over very sluggishly. This AM, all that I get is a rapid ticking sound. Battery seems fine as the lights come on strong, however they dim somewhat as I turn the ignition. It's the original battery and the status indicator shows it to be BLUE. Good.

Is this a starter relay issue?

It appears that the new battery did not change things. When I turn on the ignition, I get that same rapid clicking noise and the lights dim although not as much.

Thank you very much. This was a bit beyond my ability and equipment. The truck is in the garage now and the starter relay was found to be defective. The part arrived late this afternoon and the vehicle should be ready in the morning.

Thank you very much for your time and assistance. I am duly impressed with your response and the quality of this board!
