Engine has been overheating lately, no obvious leaks, fan works fine and the bearings do not appear to be going out. I was using water in the engine until the last time it got hot when I noticed that the water was boiling in the resevoir. Engine also revs up on its own at stoplights in the morning, but stops after the engine is a bit warmer, I don't know if these are related.

WITH ENGINE COLD, FLUSH THE WATER OUT. THEN WITHOUT REPLACING THE BIG FAT RADIATOR HOSE FROM THE BOTTOM THAT YOU TOOK OUT TO FLUSH IT, PUT WATER IN THE RADIATOR UNTIL IT FILLS UP... THEN LOGICALLY, IT WILL DRAIN BY ITSELF, IT SHOULD DO THIS PRETTY FAST, IF IT GOES DOWN VERY SLOWLY, YOUR RADIATOR LINES ARE PLUGGED UP FROM THE INSIDE. IT SHOULDN'T LOOK BROWN IN THERE, IT SHOULD LOOK CLEAN. IF IT'S A METAL ONE, TAKE IT OFF AND TAKE IT SOMEWHERE WHERE THEY OPEN EM AND CLEAN EM OUT AND WELD THEM BACK UP TOGETHER, OTHERWISE A NEW ONE IS $150 COMPARED TO WHAT I PAYED...$15.00
