Computer problem
1990 Toyota Pickup 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Manual

So I baught a truck that wasnt running, and there is a 4-runner engine in it and the mechanic got it going but then it quit. So I baught a new ECU computer thinking thats what it was and still nothing. And when I plugged in the ECU I turned the key and the flashers went on at a rapid paced and the headlights turned on. What else could cause the truck not to work if the computer isnt the problem. Please just give me idea of what it can be. Im thinking maybe a bad connection.

New ecu may need to be reflashed, but before you spend money on that, does this thing have an aftermarket security alarm? For somereason they always haunt vehicles.

Yes it is cranking there is nothing wrong with the starter. And even when the key is not on the headlights turn on and the blinkers.
