Engine Mechanical problem
1986 Toyota Pickup 4 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic

just replaced motor with a 94, used orginal wiring harness, and EFI manifold. I replaced the timing chain, cam gear and crank gear. Set on top dead center, adjusted the valves, had it running but motor shook real bad, pulled distributor, set on # 1, now the motor won't start. When it was running, the motor got real hot and could not advance or retard the timing by turning the distributor. Have tried setting distributor on # 1, everything looks good but will not start.

Pull the distributor back out-put engine no.1 piston on its compression stroke/TDC line the timing marks at the damper-then install the distributor making sure the rotor is pointing at the no.1 cap tower.
