Hi-
I have set my idle up high on my pickup because of this change in idling that it does. It will idle just fine some of the time (only fast because that's the way I have it set) and then frequently won't idle well at all (which is why I've set the idle so high).
I'm somewhat experienced at backyard troubleshooting. This acts just like if the choke was sticking on, but it does not smoke when the rough idle occurs. And, only when the rough idle occurs it also acts like it is out of time on deceleration. Doesn't backfire but almost does.
I've tried looking for a vacuum hose that might be doing something intermittent, but no luck. I'd think it was the carburetor, except for it acting like it's out of time ONLY when it also doesn't want to idle.
If possible to also email thoughts to ranger@rangerville.com that would be great. Don't know if forum allows for notification when answers are sent. Thanks!
