I don't see why not, you just have to be a little more careful with yourself, that dust is just as bad as insulation, it'll make your arms and hands itch like crazy if they're not covered and I'd suggest a respirator but a dust mask will be ok.

It depends if you need the calif. or fed. diagram. I think I have it my haynes manual. I'll have to look.
