Toyota engine light and diagnostic

This is a 1993 Toyota 2wd pickup with 126K miiles. Engine light has been coming on when first started for about 5 minutes, then goes off. Recently the truck quit while running at 60 mph going down a highway. Tried diagnoatic by jumping TE1 and E1 but engine light did not blink to indicated trouble code. Please help. Thanks

Try turning key On than jump it and comeback with code/s
