1997 Toyota Landcruiser power antenna
Electrical problem
1997 Toyota Landcruiser 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic 140000 miles
My antenna mast quit retracting back into the antenna motor. I can still hear the motor working but the antenna remains up. I removed the antenna mast and the plastic/nylon cord that retracts the antenna mast is broken off inside the motor unit. I tried to see if I could somehow pull out the remaining piece but I cannot see it inside. How do I remove the motor and/or replace the mast. I have the new mast with the long plastic/nylon cord. Any info would help.
Thanks, Dave.

Hi there,
You have to remove the plastic inner guard cover to access the antenna, it is easy to remove but the fitting of a new mast is tricky, may be take out the antenna and give it to a mechanic to set up the new mast.
