1996 Toyota Corolla, 100,000 miles. The radiator was flushed and water got all over the the engine b/c it was not covered. After that the car started but as I drove away it began to make a strange sound and began to shake. I let it sit for about a week to dry out and then tried to start it and it turns over and will not start. Someone told me the spark plugs probably got wet and needed to be changed. I just want to know if it is something else that may be very expensive before I have it towed to the dealer.

Water could have made inside the distributor and the power distribution box. What you need to do is confirm what's wrong with the igntion system by disconnecting a sparkplug wire or 2 grounding it to the engine while cranking the engine over-Do you have spark, at the same time you could also be listening to the injector/s while cranking it over do you hear the injector/s clicking if there's no clicking it means the injector/s are not being pulse. Do this and comeback with some results then we can continue.
