Got a problem with the transmissin fluid backing out of the dipstick tube when traveling for long distance (over 80 miles) on the highway. The car is a 91 toyota corolla in otherwise excellent shape, 165k miles. The transmission is a 3spd automatic. Fluid looks as if it needs changing, a bit dark colored red. Does not seem to be overfull fluid wise. Can the transmission cooler be going out? any suggestions would be great. thank you.

If its not overfilled like you said-The tranny is blown-have it pressure tested to ID internal problems.

What I meant by blown its messed-up here's some

Fluid flows out the oil filler tube High fluid level Check and correct fluid level
Breather vent clogged, Open breather vent
Clogged oil filter or screen, Replace filter or clean screen (change fluid also)
Internal fluid leakage, Have transmission checked professionally
