Car Alarm Trouble

I have a 1994 Toyota Corolla. It has 55000 and has a 1.8 liter engine. My car alarm has not been working. I thought that the battery in my car remote was the problem, but when I replaced them it still didn't work. What could be the problem? Thank you!

Check the fuse going to the alarm

If it is a after market alarm it will probably be in line going to the alarm.
