Hi, i have a 2001 Toyota Corrolla, 4 door sedan. I cant seem to take the car out of park. There is a little button by the shifter that i have to press for it to come out of park. When i first got the car it was used but it didnt have this problem. Do you know why it would be doing this.

Also, at very random times usually when its time to get my tires balanced my brake lights go out for no reason. Both of them at the same time so i know its not a fuse thing. To be sure they were checked and are fine. People have suggested the brake pedal pressure switch but i cant seem to find it. Can you tell me if this is the problem and where the switch might be?

Thanks for your help in advance.
