I am getting conflicting process instructions to replace lens. Toyota process has rremove bezel, slide out cluster, remove 8 clips replace lens then reassy with battery disconnect for safety. Firestone dealer is saying according to "Mitchell'? They also need to drop the sterring column? Which is it cause costs will be impacted. They say 1.5 hrs. This is for plastic lens over speedometer & other gauges.

Go with Toyota.

Generally you would not have to drop steering column to get lens out.

I would also stay away from chain repair shops, find a good local garage specializing in Toyota's.

Get an estimate from them.

Mitchell is and online repair reference program, similar to Alldata. Both offer repair procedures, diagrams, estimating programs etc.

You are depending on what Firestone says Mitchell says, and I prefer local garages to what a chain says, based on many years of experience dealing with chains.
