Hi
I have 2005 corolla, i recently got check engine light code 171. Mechanic said the MAF sensor needs to be replaced and costs around 500$. Is there any particular brand of sensor which i can buy online/store and get it replaced? Am getting for 100$ online.

$500 is way over priced. Even OEM sensor is only $180 plus about $50 for labor. May want to go to different repair shop and ask them for a quote on replacing your MAF sensor.
