Hi, my "check engine" light came on suddenly yesterday. When this happened before, they said I didn't tighten the gas cap all the way. How can I test this, to see if it corrects the problem? Can I just unscrew and tighten the gas cap now, or do I have to put more gas in and drive it for a while? Thank you.

Just tighten gas cap and check engine light will go off in a day or two.

You can take to some autoparts stores and have code erased.

If gas cap is problem, you will get an EVAP (small leak) error, it will go away after a while once cap is tightened.
