2002 Toyota Corolla Front Wheel Drive Manual 114000 miles

i have a 2lr d4d corolla lately she has been giving trouble true the gears shes losing power true the throtle i have 2 stop put her back in neutral and then she goes again my mechanic is unsure wat the problem could be as she doesnt do this often a friend of mine told me he had the same problem he later found out it was a spilt clutch my mechanic doesnt seem to think my car has that problem im looking for advice on wat u think the problem could be any help on finding the problem r wat u think the problem could be would be of massive help thanking u in advance

Hi there,

I would not discount the clutch. but i would just be checking the tune and doing Scan to see if there are any set fault codes. I would try and get a second opinion on the clutch as well.

Hi hooks,

Check if the ATF level is too low.

If the ATF is very dark in color and smells, you should have a look at the ATF strainers. Toyota trans filters are maintenance free but they can get clogged if the trans is in bad shape.
