I took my car to get looked at for the check engine light on. I was told that I need to have the Charcoal Canister Valve Assembly replaced. I was told it would cost about $900.00 to do this. Does this thing go bad this quick or should I have someone else look at it first.I only have 32000 miles on this car.... Thanks

I would get a second opinion, although is is low mileage, it is also 7 years old.

The valve could be bad, but it would not hurt to get a second opinion (or 3rd).

If the valve is the culprit, then you can always get a used one at a junk yard.
