Hi,

I have this 99 corolla which was running just fine until one morning all of a sudden it didn't start. I drove the car the night before. That morning everytime I cranked the ingnition key it sounded like an automatic machine gun firing. I thought about battery but a jump didn't work. Could it be starter motor? But 9 years old car loosing starter motor seems a little odd.
One thing I can remember is that couple of days before this, I was driving inside a shopping complex where the speed bump lost all marking and I drove at full speed (about 35mph) twice over the bump and got a big jerk. I don't know if that has caused any problem. But again it happened 2 days before the car died.
Appreciate your suggestion. And if I need to replace starter motor where is the best place, and how much will it cost?

Thanks
