CEL is on since April. DTC is P0441/P0446. I went to auto shop. VSV (vacuum switch valve) under front hood was changed. Charcoal canister was replaced in rear end underneath. New gas cap was put on. Smoking engine was used to test leak of fuel. Unfortunately, all thes seem not working with my car. The check engine light is always back again and again following a couple of miles driving after each repair. The DTC is P0446 now....
Any suggestion or advice? Thank you!

Thanks for answering my question. Do you mean that I am qualified to get a free ECM from Toyota right now (mile 71400)?

80,000 miles and 96 months...so I think so! 8 years? I don't know when you bought it, but if you can prove when the proble started was before the 8 year cut off, then yes...but in either case, this IS your problem, maybe the shop that screwed up the diagnosis will pay for it!

To Merlin2021:

I checked the part number of Engine Control Module (ECM) in my car. It ends in a "0" and needs to be replaced. This car was 1999 Corolla and I bought it in 2002 (a used car sold by car dealer). The ECL problem developed in April this year. Based on warranty requirement (96 months or 80K miles from vehicle's in-service date), should I contact Toyota dealer for reapir coverage? Thank you for any opinion !
