Hello,

my 99 toyota corolla is acting kind of strangely:

Whenever I get off the freeway after a long trip, I put the car it neutral if I'm at a stop light. Then, when it's time to go, I try but cannot get the gear stick into 1st gear, or any other for that matter. WHen I finally force it into 1st gear, the engine starts to vibrate really violently. It's like a "thump thump thump" that makes the whole car shake. Now this all takes place before I let go of the clutch and get moving. Once I release the clutch, the vibrating stops. For the first few stop lights after getting off the freeway, this happens, but then after that everything returns to normal. It only happens in first gear too...

I just replaced the transmission and clutch last August, so I'd like to get this fixed ASAP...

Can anyone help me figure out what's wrong??

Thanks!
