I have to replace deployed airbags. The mechanic is charging me $675 because he has to remove the seats and work on something to do with the seat belts. I haven't found any info on what is under the seat regarding the airbags. Please help. Thanks!

Ask him, I am not sure why he would need to remove the seats, (other than access) but ask him why, and what he needs to replace.

If he is repacing drivers and passengers side bag for $675, I think you are getting a great deal.

Thanks for answering my question. Since $675 is a great deal, I will go for it. The mechanic said he has to remove the seat because the seat belts are locked. Have a great day!

I have seen the replacement of both airbags go for over $2,000. And this repair should be done by a professional, since accidental deployment can happen if not done correctly.
