About two weeks ago my oil light would flash on randomly during the first couple minutes of driving then go off. I checked my oil levels and noticed the oil cap was missing (I am not sure for how long). I bought a new oil cap and then took the car to get the oil changed. While, there the guy told me the car might have a leak (the bottom of the car was coated in oil) so I took it into a mechanic.

The mechanic cleaned the engine and the bottom of the car and tested for a leak. They said they couldn't find one. I picked up the car today and was driving on the freeway when the check engine light came on (it flashes).

The car then stated to shaken when I attempted to accelerate past 40 but it will go past 40. It just feels like it is struggling to do so. Hopefully this is not a huge problem. I am taking it back in to the mechanic soon but I am hoping you can give me an idea of what I am in for. Thank you.

Hi there,

the engine check light is indicating a set fault code with in the engine management system. If may be related to the oil bath the engine received or even the cleaning. but before anything is done the code will have Tobe read first and this will give a code for the problem area
