While in drive upon reaching around 40 mph, when I apply gas to maintain speed, there is a repetitive squeak noise coming from the engine compartment. I also feel a light repetitive thumping in the pedal.

It only does this during the first inch of pedal travel, if I push farther it stops.

The sound is not there if I shift into neutral and press the pedal. Also, if I'm in a left turn it will not make a sound.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Hi there,

I feel that you need to get the throttle body cleaned, you get a build up of fuel residue around the throttle plate and this can be the result.
