saturday, drove the car for about 15 minutes, stayed about 6-7 hours in town and drove it back to my apartment no problem, this was the first time i used the rear defroster in a long time.
sunday night, try to drive it again for a milk run, makes clicking sound when i try to start the care, i think its a dead battery, jump it, it starts and i drive for 30 minutes or so. turned on the rear defroster for a second time here.
monday morning, try to start the car to see if it made it though the night, make clicking sound again, batteries dead again. when i get back from work jump it a second time drive around ( no rear defroster or accessories at all). stop for 30 mins at a store, starts fine when i get out.
tuesday night, start it again to make sure it was fine after jump, and my problems starts. Makes the clicking noise, but after 1 second or so of clicking it sounds like the engine is starting, but i still hear clicking noise. So i try to start it a second time and after turning the ignition for a long time ( 5 second) i hear the clicking nose for the first 3, then it begins to start and i successfully start it. i let it idle for 10 min, turn it off. turn it back on 2 minutes later to see if it is fine, starts normally.
wednesday afternoon, start it again to, same deal with hereing the clicking noise but was abel to get it to start after holding the ignition for a long time. also starts normally after 10 minute idle.
wednesday night, again here the clicking noise to start but i am abel to get it to start after a while. and i post here.
i brought the car in 3 weeks again because it wouldnt start/ had a weird sound. the mechanic told me that the battery et al was fine ( passed a load test) and the sound was a hole in the exhaust, and couldnt fix it at the moment, i would have to come back but was not a problem other then the sound.
no problems at all between when i had the battery tested and sunday.
so my question is, is it safe to keep starting the car even though it makes the clicking noise alot before i get it to start. if it isnt safe what could it possible be and does it need to immediately get fixed.
