The jumper cables were placed incorrectly when a friend needed a jump. 3 days later my car acts like it wants to crank but doesn't. My radio and lights still come on. All fuses were checked and they're still good. If the computer was fried then nothing would come on. Is that true or not? It's got roughly about 132,000 miles and it's a 4 cylinder.

Hi there,

If you damaged the ECU the problem would be when you spiked the electrical system, (normally) I would think that you may have shorted out the alternator and the battery has taken a few days to discharge. Have the charge system tested and also have a falt code read on the ECU done to be safe.

Good luck , Mark (mhpautos)
