1996 Toyota Corolla Battery Light Came on

1996 Toyota Corolla Four Wheel Drive Automatic 179000 miles

My battery light came on so I replaced the battery, I didn't tighten it well enough so I took it to Advanced auto where the mechanic showed me the problem and "fixed it" problem id this morning it would not start, I got a jump to start it and the windshield wipers started going all by themselves, car is dead again, can anyone help?

Ground the field terminal on back of the alternator when the charge light turns off -replace voltage regulator if its On - you have a defective alternator.

Advance, Oriellys, and Autozone do not hire mechanics, they are parts specialists (for the most part).

They install batteries as a courtesy. They should have checked the charging system.
