Hi,

I just parked my car and the next morning, I wasnt able to start it anymore. Battery is strong. When I turn on the ignition, the engine cranks. I have made sure that the cables to the spark plugs are connected. Checked the spark plugs for wetness. I then disconnected the spark plugs and placed them close to a ground point. Cranked the engine but no sparks.

Checked the fuse box under the hood. The 30A fuse for the starting system was open. Replaced it, turned on the keys and it blew again.

What could be wrong? How can I test and find the faulty component or short?

HELP!

Thanks!

Hi freeman,

Since the fuse blows out when the ignition switch was turned on, one of the main components has shorted.

It would not be easy for us to help you.

Try looking for exposed wires that might be touching the body.

Any indication maybe some wires might have been attacked by rodents etc?

If you can get a wiring diagram of the fuse that was blown, you can try by tracking down all components related to this fuse and eliminating them 1 by 1.
