1993 Toyota Corolla Car cut off at stop light and will not

My vehicle cut off while I was stopped at a stop light and will not restart. It sounds like it wants to crank but does not "catch" as some may say. My lights still come on so I am almost sure that it is not the battery. A friend of mine told me it may be something that has to do with my fuel pump or the fuse...(whatever that means).....what do you think or suggest could be going on?[/quote:27a4af62f9]

list to check :
if you have spark:pull one of the spark plug wire place it near ground ask helper to crank watch for a spark
listen for the fuel pump and check for fuel and fuel pressure
check timing belt
