Engine Mechanical problem
1992 Toyota Corolla 4 cyl Automatic 169000 miles

This morning I noticed that when I started my car, the brake light and the battery lights on the dash stayed on until I began driving. Then this afternoon, the car acted like it had a hard time starting. I stopped at the store and when I tried to start the car, it would not start. I don't think it is the battery since the car dings when the key is in the ignition and the door is open. could this be the starter?

Thanks for answering my question. I have my mechanic coming to check the car out for me. If I let the car sit over night, do you think I might be able to start it so I can get it home?

Thanks again,

Around here we do not have to worry about cold weather this time of year. Highs in the 90s to 100s and lows in the 70s or 80s. My mechanic is going to check it out in the morning. He ran out of time before he ran out of things to do!

Thanks again,
