I purchased a car for my daughter "as is" and the speedometer, odometer and gas gauge doesn't work. The gas gauge works from half to full but not from half to empty. What do you suppose is l causing this malfunction and what do you estimate the cost to fix this. I appreciate your time in answering my question. Thanks.

The speedometer is mechanically driven by a two cables. Usually the lower cable that attaches to the trans. Breaks. You can buy replacement cables from Toyota.

The gauge is probably OK, but the sender in the tank would need to be replaced. Some cars you have to replace the entire pump assy. To fix the sender. Check with Toyota.

The odometer will work once the cable is replaced.
