Toyota Corolla, 4 dr. sedan, manual gear, 1991 model, 210,000 miles. I bought the car new and still the car is running good. Very reliable car with good mileage. I took care of the car with regular maintenance, oil change, filter changes, and taking care of any problems like cv joint or shocks promptly. Recently I am noticing one thing which doesnt sound right and would appreciate any advice. When the car is running and is in neutral gear (or in gear and clutch pressed), if I turn the steering wheel, it makes a loud squeaking sound. It happens either way I turn the wheel. I removed the hood to find the source of the noise. Apparently the noise is coming from the passenger side of the engine compartment (belt assembly in the same side). I may not be correct identifying the exact source of sound, but the sound is consistent. When the engine is running and the car is not moving, it makes the sound whenever steering wheel is turned left or right. When the car is moving then there is no sound.
