I have checked the fuel pump and it's working properly. I have changed spark plugs and set them at the proper gap spacing. I changed the oxygen sensor as well but the car still stalls. It will not run at idle but will run with the tachometer above 1000 for a few minutes before it stalls. I drove this car 60 miles to my home and it ran fine for a while but every time I went up a hill it would stall. I finally made it home and now it simply will not remain running for more than a few minutes at over 1000 RPM.

Any ideas?

Check spark first, should be a blue snapping spark, anything else is considered no spark.

But I have to say, that most likely the carb. will have to be rebuilt, and the high idle is most likely a vacuum line.

I will check the plugs tonight. You are right. I will most likely rebuild the carb.

Thanks
