have repalced the starter several times believe it was getting hot from the exhoust, so I make sure the timeing was spot on and my last replacement lasted longer. How ever I am in need of replaceing it again. Should I put a heat shield over the starter or is there something else I should do. I am sure that the starter is going bad because of heat. Thanks Al

Hi there,

These starters do not normally get affected by engine /Exhaust heat. i would be checking the power supply and engine earths first, dont use second hand starters have it o/hauled by an auto electrician and you should not have any problems.
