My son's car will die after it has been ideling for a short time. It seems to be worse when the fuel tank is below 1/2 full. We had the fuel system checked. Changed the fuel filter and checked the fuel pressure. All checks OK. When it quit one time I checked for proper firing and found good spark. Yoiu can let it set for around 20 minutes and it will start up and run fine. Could it be a loose fitting on the fuel pump and it is sucking air when the fuel level is at a certain level. Maybe a fuel shut off switch going bad (if it has one). Maybe a weak circuit breaker that controls the fuel system. When this has happened he has always put fuel in when it restarted. I told him not to let it get below 1/2 tank so we could see if it was fuel level related. Like I figured he let it get below so I am back to square one. Please Help
