Toyota Celica engine ticking

Hi, I have a 2000 Toyota celica GT with 85k miles. Car runs like a champ, but my engine has ticking noise at idle speeds. Idle itself seems rough, I can feel vibration inside. It had check engine light on, which showed 1st cyl. Misfire, changed spark plugs and the light went off. Ticking is not persistent, it comes on and goes off. It can be 1 tick sound or few ticks in a row. When I listen to the engine it seems like the ticking comes from the left side of it. When I accelerate engine it cant be heard any more. Car doesn't burn oil, engine has power. I showed it to several mechanics including toyota service center, they say there is nothing to be worried about. Any suggestions?

Do an engine flush change oil and filter every 2500 miles you keep this maintenance up and the other stuffs as required-you'll go another 7yrs.

Subject: engine ticking.
Thanks a lot, I also heard about various oil additives, sea foam. Is that any good to use? Also I have never done engine flush before. I just bot this car 2 months ago. How can I get engine flush done?
I really like this car and want to stick with it, invest some money into tune up like intake, exhaust, pulleys just for more efficient run. I am not a racer, I rarely pass 3500rpm. Actually someone told me that ticking noises in toyotas occur often and reason being poor maintenance.
What type oil would be the best? I guess synthetic is the only way to go.

And thank you for your time again, I really appreciate your dedication to this web and its customers.
