Noise between accelerating and decelerating

95 toyota celica 1.8 liter automatic transmission, 138, 00 miles
at various speeds right between slight acceleration and sllight deceleration there is a clunking noise which I cannot determine the cause, cv joints look good, wheel bearings seem solid. Left Front wheel bearing might have slight play in it. Noise seems to come more from transmission output shafts. Upon grabbing cv axles at output shaft location there is slight play in the solid shaft member not the cv joint.
