I have a 1999 Celica convertable and the frame is broken along the drivers side.I cant find anyone who can replace the frame only - the top is in great shape. My questions is - can the frame be replaced in sections - so I just buy the section that is broken and not have to replace the whole frame? And where can I buy the frame / and /or the parts for the frame?

Had the same issue on my '99. You have to buy a replacement left side rail and have that installed. I'm in northern California and had the work done at a shop that specializes in convertible top repair. Don't try to have this done at the dealer.

You should also have them check out the motors for the top. They do need periodic replacement, and a lagging motor can cause the top to twist while opening, which is how you end up with snapped metal. As we found, it's best to replace the broken rail and both motors at the same time to avoid additional troubles.

Good luck.
