I hav a 1995 toyota curren that has a 3s-ge motor 3rd gen. It doesnt rev pass 3000 rpm, usually it would go all the way to 7000 but one day it stopped at 5000 then went down to 3000 rpm also usually idles at 500 rpm but now only about 100rpm its very close to the zero but it doesnt stall. Occasionally I hear the muffler pop when driving slow.

Hi sekretz, Welcome to 2carpros and TY for the donation and selecting us as your auto repair site Feel free to ask questions at anytime

Check and test the following:
Possibilities:

Dirty fuel injectors (cleaning the injectors often fixes this).
Bad MAP (manifold absolute pressure) sensor
Bad TPS (throttle position) sensor
Bad or dirty MAF (mass airflow) sensor
Low fuel pressure (leaky fuel pressure regulator or weak fuel pump)
Vacuum leaks (intake manifold, vacuum hoses, throttle body, EGR valve)
Bad gasoline (fuel contaminated with water or too much alcohol)

Sometimes, what feels like a hesitation is actually ignition misfire rather than lean misfire. The causes of ignition misfire may include:

Dirty or worn spark plugs
Bad plug wires
Weak ignition coil
Wet plug wires
Cap and Rotor

If it doesn't apply disregard it
