I have a 1991 toyota celica gt, has about 153,000 miles on it. I just replaced the oil pump, water pump, timing belt, and ignition wires. After test driving it, a scraping, clicking noise popped up, kind of like a struggling noise. This happenes in 1st gear when accelerating, and then in 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th gears only when accelerating at higher rpms ( around 2500-3000 rpm). It happened before the tune up, but only once in a while in 1st gear. The parts store said to change the gear oil, but i did that already, and still no change. I checked every where, body/engine, but still couldnt find where the noise was coming from. its my first car and im still in school, i could really use some help. Thanks.

Oh, ok. well the noise is constant with the engine speed.... It runs good except for the noise that is noticeably louder than before the tune up, and it only happens when i accelerate, not decelerating or at idle. What do you think it is?

Find out if the tensioner bearing was replaced, check that it is not a noisy alternator or the plastic timing cover touching the harmonic balancer or the timing belt and making a noise.
