1988 Toyota Celica 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive 212000 miles

Celica GT stalls when running hot. Once when making a U-turn after 4 miles and another after driving 45 minutes on the freeway. Car starts though when cold. Celica stays running when stationary. I tried it for 20 minutes but I got impatient and turned it off. Celica fuel pump and filter change is unknown. I got this from my sister. Car has hole in muffler. The last time I asked a question I donated three times totalling $27.00. Would you give me a break?

Hi there,

Start with a good tune up replace the air & fuel filter change the plugs and check the leads and cap for carbon tracking, check all the vacuum hoses for cracks and splits re set the valve clearances and check the ignition timing, start here first and if the problem persists re post for further action.
