I have a 93 Camry. It was in an accident and now belongs to the kids. There is a dent in the front right passenger door that keeps the window from going all the way down. We have tried to take apart the door but can't seem to figure it out.

Getting a new door is not an option since the dent goes into the frame (a new door wouldn't fit the new "look" we have on that side).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Lori

Hi there,

There is only so much you can remove on a Camry door. To remove your dint, you will have to remove the door trim to access the inner panel, this is not removable and there is not much access to the outer panel either. Depending on where the dint is (in the middle i suspect) you may be able to remove the window regulator and give it a knock out, but what panel beater use is a up dated version of a slide hammer. If you are able to make one it should do the trick. You need a metal round bar and a heavyweight that will slide up the shaft. on the end there is a corse metal screw. Drill a small hole in the panel screw in the slide hammer and pull the dint out by sliding the weight up the shaft, striking the end plate you welded on so the weight wont fly off!
You may have to do this in a number of spots to pull the dint out enough, but watch your fingers it will bite you if you don't watch your self. Repaire hole if required.
