here is my problem and i need help trying to repair it. the car runs fine but when i drive it for like 15 minutes it start being wierd. the rpm's is getting higher then it should be. when i have it on drive the rpm's is high, and useally when you stop you shift to nautral the rmp's went really high. so i was wondering what is wrong with it. and then one day when i was driving it, i think the engine got too hot and i was coming to a red light and it was hard for me to stop. i try to push really hard on the brakes. and then i pull over and look under the hood. i notice that my fan isnt working. and i accidently touch my radiator and it was really hot. to summarize it all, my rpm's was high and i dont think my fan is working. so can someone tell me what i need to do.

thanks alot.

Try cleaning the idle air control valve and the throttle body plate-also check for a stretch accelerator cable or needing adjustment.

Check the coolant temperature and throttle position sensors

Might also want to look at the vacuum line from the engine to the brake booster
