Ok, I know this is going to sound hilarious and stupid at the same time, I already know it was an unwise decision. Less than one week ago I brought a 1992 camry with 235,000 miles on it (yeah I know, but I was desparate) Anyway, it's "power windows" don't roll down, and there are wires all over the place. The person I brought it from said the motors and fuses were fine, but the main power something didn't work. The radio works, but the antenna doesn't go up outside, nor does the driver's side speaker or the power locks. The wires appear to be from an old sound system that was ripped out.
I was told that having the problem fixed could cost up to $1000, which isn't an option since I brought the car for $400 and commute to school each day. Other than the windows the car "seems" to be working OK. I have researched window regulator kits online and wonder if these are the best option? Is it a repair I could do myself? And is there anyway short of breaking the glass that I could force the windows down?

G'day toyo girl i've got a 90 model toyota and my doors have manual wind up windows. As cars get older sometimes the trim or guiding liners around the windows get worn out making them hard to wind up. I just oil mine. If I had a problem with my windows like yours I would hit the wreckers and get a driver side door with manual winder. Good luck :D
