Engine light is NOT on. I have replaced the fuel filter, new spark plugs, new plug wires, new distributor cap and rotor, new pcv valve, cleaned the injectors and attempted to reset the computer by unhooking the negative cable from the battery. I read a posting about a MAF and TPS. What are these and how do I check them? Please help this poor married wife with a NON mechanical husband.

Do you have a book and DVOM?

Okay start by finding the idle air control valve IACV and the exhaust gas recirculation EGR and open it up and clean it out.
