I too am having the white powder issue. I am the original owner and the air bags have not been deployed, unless it is possible the they have deployed, but are not coming out. This powder is chalky, visible bits. LOTS of it. It seems like talcum powder, possible cornstarch....I really don't know, but want to have an idea what it could be.

Check your in cabin filter. Remove the glove box shock, push in on both sides if the glove box so you can pull it downward. behind the box there is a rectagular cover. Remove this and check this filter. this filter filters the air coming into cabin of vehicle. reguardless the cause of the powder this will remove the accumulated debris.
