Engine Mechanical problem
2005 Toyota Camry 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic
My 2005 Camrey was driven through a deep puddle during Hurricane Ike and stalled. No water entered the interior of the car. The car was pushed out of the puddle and when we tried to restart the car, all we heard was a click. The car was towed back to our garage (home garage) . A couple of friends who knew a little about engine tried to manually turn what I believe was the crankshaft and could not turn the engine supposedly. I am afraid engine hydrolocked and a piston was bent thus totaling the engine. I was wondering if this is a correct diagnosis or if anything less could be wrong. If the engine needs replacing would you know where I could get a ballpark estimate. My insurance refused to cover the car because the puddle was from Hurricane Ike.so we will
have to pay for the engine ourselves. Thank You-i would appreciate any information you might have
