The other day I got into my car and as I started the engine I noticed that the brake light was on, the ABS light, the check engine light - all on. The speedometer wasn't working anymore, also the power-windows weren't working and the fuel gauge was going up and down as it pleased. It went away the next time I got in the car, but reappeared a few days later. Now it's constant and I can't roll down my windows or see how fast I am going or when I'm about to run out of gas. I had all my fuses checked and also was wondering if it might have anything to do with the ignition or the coil? What could it be and how can I fix it? What am I looking at money-wise if I have to take her in?

Shops usually charge $80 for a PCM scan to get error codes, depends on what is wrong, but in this case it sounds like a short or open wire.

You may have a wire harness that was burned by an exhaust leak or something close, but reading the codes is the first thing to do.
