which oxygen sensor is no. 1?

There is an oxygen sensor Bank 1 Sensor 1, this is the one located on the exhaust manifold. Beside the engine. If this is California emission, it is called air fuel sensor. If it is Federal emission, it is oxygen sensor. They look alike but are different in operation. You should check under the hood if it says California or Federal.
I just changed mine because it would not passed the California smog check. Air-Fuel sensor Toyota part number 89467-33011 ($200 dealer) or less if you buy on Ebay.com

Bank 1 Sensor 2, this is the oxygen sensor at the bottom of the car after the catalytic converter.
