2000 toyota camry, 4 cyl, AUTO, w/150,000 miles started smelling a rotten smell and found that battery is smoking. Do you know if it is a alternator, over charging battery. I don't know if there is a PCM to control alternator for this model year. Please advise if I have to change the battery or both alternator and battery. Thanks
