the engine would start to turn over but then a rattling sound

I just tried to start my Camry this morning but couldn't, when I turned the key it would make an ignition sound and the engine would start to turn over but then a rattling sound would come from under the hood, could someone please give me some more information on this problem, Thanks.

Check the battery, sounds about dead. The noise could simply be the starter and solenoid do not have enough amps to turn the engine.

Recheck the battery and its connections-now if it can start and the noise is there-might be a timing chain problem further investigation is required.

after getting the battery properly load tested and if its not the problem, i wouldn't be surprised if the starter is going bad. one of toyota's weak link. i change them all the time.
